Functional Principle of Vacuum Distillation
Vacuum distillation is used for reprocessing the solvent: The distillation can be carried out at lower temperatures, as the vacuum leads to a decrease in the boiling point of the solvent. Hereby, the energy demand and thus the operational costs are reduced. The lower temperatures have some positive side effects: Thermal decomposition of the solvent is prevented, and foaming due to contained water is reduced. In addition, when reprocessing purification fluids with contained nitro lacquer, process temperatures of less than 100 °C can be ensured.
The polluted solvent is drawn into the distillation chamber through an optional pre-heater unit by means of vacuum. Subsequently, the contents of the distillation chamber is heated indirectly by a thermal oil heating. The solvent evaporates, is evacuated and cooled in a condenser. The clean distillate can be led back into the process instantly, or it can be filled into suitable tanks or barrels. The remaining residues are removed manually or automatically after one or more distillation processes.
Your Benefits
- The quality of the solvent remains constant even after several distillation processes.
- Vacuum distillation allows reprocessing rates from 25 litres per day to 2,000 litres per hour.
- You can flexibly devise the feeding and the removal of the solvent: a barrel-to-barrel or IBC-to-IBC distillation is possible as well as a fixed piping of the system with existing storage tanks.
